Meet the Artists
Max Tan
Praised as "eloquent" by the New York Times and "warmly rhapsodic" by the Boston Globe, Taiwanese American violinist Max Tan has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, forging a varied career as performer and educator. He has soloed with orchestras such as the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, The Juilliard Orchestra, amongst others. Recipient of the 2023 Gershen Cohen Violin Award from Juilliard, he will make his Carnegie Hall recital debut in 2024. Mr. Tan is an alumnus of Harvard College. Currently a doctoral candidate at Juilliard, he is founder and artistic director of Soundbox Ventures, concertmaster of Opera Philadelphia, and assistant faculty of violin and chamber music at Juilliard's Pre-College Division. His mentors at Juilliard include Catherine Cho, Donald Weilerstein, and Itzhak Perlman.
Clarice Jensen
Clarice Jensen is a composer and cellist based in Brooklyn, NYC who graduated with a BM and MM from the Juilliard School. As a solo artist, Clarice has developed a distinctive compositional approach, improvising and layering her cello through shifting loops and a chain of electronic effects to open out and explore a series of rich, drone-based sound fields. Pulsing, visceral and full of color, her work is deeply immersive, marked by a wonderful sense of restraint and an almost hallucinatory clarity. Meditative yet with a sculptural sharpness and rigor that sets it apart from the swathe of New Age / DIY droners, she has forged a very elegant and precise vision.
Her music has been described by Self-Titled as “heavily processed, incredibly powerful neo-classical pieces that seem to come straight from another astral plane”; by Boomkat as “languorously void-touching ideas, scaling and sustaining a sublime tension”; whilst Bandcamp remarked upon “a kaleidoscope of pulsing movement rich in acoustic beating and charged with other psychoacoustic effects, constantly shifting in density and viscous timbre.”
Jensen’s striking debut album For This From That Will Be Filled was released in April 2018 on the Berlin-based label Miasmah and followed in September 2019 with the "Drone Studies" EP, a cassette release via Geographic North. Signing to FatCat’s 130701 imprint (Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hauschka, Dustin O’Halloran, etc.) in late Summer 2019, her sophomore album The experience of repetition as death was released April 2020. Naming it among the top 50 albums of 2020, NPR remarked "This collection of requiems for a dying mother ranks among the great ambient albums of the 21st century." Her new album Esthesis was released in October 2022.
Jensen recently scored three feature films - Amber Sealey's No Man of God premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival; Takeshi Fukunaga's Ainu Mosir, premiered at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival; Fernanda Valadez's 2020 Sundance Film Festival award-winner Sin Señas Particulares (Identifying Features), for which Jensen was nominated for a 2021 Ariel Award for Best Original Music by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
A versatile collaborator, Jensen has recorded and performed with a host of stellar artists including Jóhann Jóhannsson, Max Richter, Björk, Stars of the Lid, Dustin O’Halloran, Nico Muhly, Taylor Swift, Michael Stipe, the National and many others. In her role as the artistic director of ACME (the American Contemporary Music Ensemble), she has helped bring to life some of the most revered works of modern classical music, including pieces by Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Gavin Bryars, and more.
Luna Seongeun Park
Luna Seongeun Park, a rising young soprano from South Korea, has been praised for her ethereal voice and outstanding musicality.
In 2023 March, she performed a concert The 10 Faces of Maria Callas to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Callas's birth at the Consulate General of Greece in New York. In April 2023, she performed on the Begin Again Music Concert in Carnegie Hall.
She has performed as Gilda in Yonsei Opera Gala's Rigoletto, and sang the the role of Lucinda in Mannes Opera's Dark Sisters. Luna was soprano soloist at Seoul Y Classic Festival and Seoul Youth Arts Festival sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and she produced and starred in the College Song Festival at the Seoul Arts Center. Other performances include a solo presentation by composer Kim Hyung-jin in Yeoro Night of Creative Songs at Kukje Art Hall and she was the soprano soloist for Mozart's Massa in C minor K.427.
Ms. Park is a certified performance director of the Seoul Art Song Association. She has won several awards, including 1st place in Classical Music Magazine Chunchu Concour and 2nd place in The Korea Young Artist Music Competition, and gold prize in the International Youth Music Concour.
Ms. Park is currently studying with Arthur Levy and Peiwen Chen for a master's degree at Mannes as a scholarship student. Previously, she was a full scholarship student for four years at Yonsei University, a prestigious university in Seoul, South Korea, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was also selected as a young artist and scholarship student for Camerata Bardi Academy and Teatro Grattacielo, with whom she will be singing the role of Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni in New York this June.
Bruce Wolosoff
Composer-pianist Bruce Wolosoff is an internationally acclaimed Billboard bestselling artist. His recent solo piano release Memento is currently in rotation on radio stations throughout the world.
Mr. Wolosoff is Artistic Director of Reflections in Music.
